Marc and Kelli

Reportage

Marc and Kelli

These two kids are some of my favorite #FixieFamous celebs. Marc and Kelli are like a match made in Vice Magazine. When they’re not in sleeveless shirts, they’re kitted out in the hills of LA and SF. While Marc has been racing track (and looking for alleycats) the past few years, he’s just started branching off into road racing, which inspired Kelli to do the same. I caught up with these two, the day after a race and took some photos of them.

Golden Saddle Cyclery Kit Pre-Orders

Golden Saddle Cyclery Kit Pre-Orders

Kelli’s modeling the Golden Saddle Cyclery kits, which are probably the best shop kit ever. These are now available for pre-order, so do so now at Tracko!

Details:

“So starting today until May 7th(Kits should be delivered 4 weeks later.) we will be doing a pre-order for the Golden Saddle Cyclery kit made by Endo Customs here in Los Angeles, CA. The jersey can be purchased in white or black(you can even buy both like I did). A unisex bib and women’s short will be offered, along with arm warmers. Key features of each piece are listed on the items page. Feel free to email kyle@goldensaddlecyclery.com with any questions. Both the women’s and men’s jerseys are race cut. I’m not saying size up, that’s just the cut. You’ll have to decide how aero you wanna be. These things aren’t cheap by any means but compared to a lot of other brands out there I’d say say we’re offering up a pretty competitive price for premium goods manufactured here in the U.S. of A. And I’m damn sure you’ll be the best looking one on the ride, making you more confident and a better cyclist.”

I hear Kelli sold her track bike to buy a BMX and a road bike? WTF?!?!?

Oh and they’ve got more of the Intelli GSC caps in stock now!

Fitness with Kym Perfetto

Kym has really pushed her spin classes over the years. When I first met her, she raced alleycats and was incredibly fast on the street and now, she works at Soul Cycle where she has a client list filled with celebrities. I.e. she’s made a name for herself in NYC, one of the hardest working cities in the world. Congrats girl! You deserve it.

Is #SxSW Over Yet?

Reportage

Is #SxSW Over Yet?

Seriously. I’m burnt out and I didn’t even go to many shows. Today was unofficially the “last” day of SxSW. The hordes of people will start heading back to their home town tomorrow and slowly but surely, the decompression and reconstruction of Austin will take place. Yesterday, I met Erik and Sofia from Sweden. In the next few days, they’re leaving on a 10-month cycle tour of the western United States called The Great Escape. I’m letting them crash with me for a few days before they begin their Raidô.

Last night was a wreck, which lead to a great ride and finally, I was ready for music. So this afternoon, I went by Barcelona to see the only DJ group / crew / bass record label I give a shit about anymore, Trouble and Bass. I’ve known these guys for years, since before this blog was even in existence. Seeing them grow and prosper over the years has been very inspiring. I made it in time for Drop the Lime and Death Face‘s sets. As the crowd became even more intoxicated by the deadly bass, the mood darkened and it was still daylight out!

Erika Christensen is a Rad Girl!

Erika Christensen is a Rad Girl!

I met Erika last summer in Portland at the Rapha Gentle(women’s) Race. Since I don’t have cable, I had no idea who she was. Then, everywhere we went, people recognized her from the TV show “Parenthood”. If you follow her on Twitter and pay attention to Velo, you might have caught onto this photo. If you don’t, then you had to have seen it on Tracko. Either way, you’re seeing it now, via JennLevo’s Blog.

For more on Erika, head over to the post on the Embrocation blog where she was interviewed after the Rapha Gentle(women’s) Race.

Eirlie’s Clamont Pista

Reportage

Eirlie’s Clamont Pista

As you can tell, I’ve been holding off on posting a lot of my Australia content for the recent torrent of NAHBS coverage. We’ve seen this bike already, a few times on the blog but Eirlie’s Clamont pista definitely deserves its own post. On a rainy morning in Sydney last month, I caught up with her and shot some photos of it while she ate her breakfast. This bike is the love of her life and while it’s got some chrome plating chips on the crown and various other little imperfections, its webbed bottom bracket, cleaved seat tube and history make it one unique ride. Check out more below.

A Girl and Her Bike: Kelli and Her LOW

Personal obligations sometimes get in the way of hanging out with friends but even if I only get to say hi for a few minutes, it’s worth it. During the Mash TT on Saturday, Kelli rode Marc’s LOW track bike and finished only 15 minutes behind the leading guy group. Unfortunately, she dropped her team in the process. Here she is, smiling ear to ear after a quick change out of the kit and into street clothes. Marc, when are you giving her your bike dude?

I miss all my Cali friends. Ride safe girl! For a higher-res file, click here.
