This just in from the crew at Dosnoventa:
“We proudly present the Barcelona Lugs, our new frame inspired in the japanese keirin competitions. Made of Spirit Columbus steel in black color with all details handpainted in gold.”

One of these years I’m going to make it out to this event. Kudos to Wolf Pack Hustle!
I heard there was a drone at the Red Hook Crit Barcelona and I’m stoked to see the footage came out so rad. Congrats to everyone who’s been killing it at the RHC series!
This project has been in the works for well over a year. Macaframa and T-Level got together to design the Transit Bag. Scoop one up here!
Ok, I know I’m in the middle of the raddest MTB trip of my life, but these guys just had the raddest track bike trip of theirs. Wolfpack Hustle in Barcelona for Red Hook Crit!
Let’s face it, the name Cinelli and Columbus is synonymous with Urban Cycling. Personally, I feel like they’ve done a lot to bring alleycats, track bikes and general radness to the industry. Especially with sponsorships and their collaboration with MASH over the years.
At this year’s Eurobike, Cinelli’s booth featured an extensive Columbus display, the Bootleg HOBO with Lucas Brunelle’s video and the newest from MASH. I even ran into Red Hook Crit Barcelona champion Fish while I was shooting photos. Check out more in the Gallery!
Although I’ve never been, Barcelona seems like an ideal backdrop for the world’s first and largest track bike crit. With its bustling bike scene, this year’s event drew hundreds of spectators, one of which was photographer Hollis Duncan. Over the years, I’ve relied on Guest Galleries to supply the site with photos from events I am unable to attend and I’m really happy with what Hollis shot at the Red Hook Crit Barcelona.
The results of the 2013 Red Hook Crit Barcelona:
1. Stefan Vis
2. Evan Murphy
3. Ranier Schaefer
4. Thibaud Lhenry
5. Kyle Murphy

The Urban Cycling Hall of Fame committee met last week in Chicago to select the first year’s inductees, as well as next year’s board. I still can’t believe I was in Chicago for two full days and only got to pedal around for an afternoon. But hey, work is work and sometimes I fly into a city without getting to fully emerse myself in it. There are dozens upon dozens of rad shops I wanted to check out but didn’t have time. Even though we only went to one shop, I have to say, I’m pretty stoked on visiting this one in particular.
Cycle Smithy has so much eye candy hanging from the walls and ceiling of their space. It’s overwhelming and was totally unexpected, mostly because I had never heard of the shop before. With the short amount of time we had there, I managed to shoot a few (quick) detail photos of this Cinelli Laser pursuit track. It’s a bit of an odd-bird build, with a mix of Italian and Japanese components (that seatpost) but I’m not complaining. Nor was FYXO. I wish it wasn’t raining so I could have taken it a block or so away to shoot better photos but this is what I got.

Just about everyone is over in Barcelona for the Red Hook Crit, including the Mash team. Mike shot some incredible photos at the D’Horta Velodrome during a warm up session and you should really check them out.
That said, I’m more stoked on his detail photos of the track, which you can see here. I wish the best of luck to everyone who’s racing tomorrow. Ride safe fellas!
I really, really had a blast in Minneapolis. As a by-product of running this site, I always have a camera on me. Unfortunately for some people, that means I am usually catching them doing something idiotic. Fortunately for you, it’s quite funny to see some of that behavior unfold.
What you’ll fine within this narrated Gallery is only part of some of the stories to be told here on the site at a later date. Most of these photos involve the following: bros, babes, Baroo, beaches, bikes, beer and bourbon. Simple enough right? Check out more in the Gallery!
Here’s a video from this year’s Criterium Gijón, which appears to have had a great turnout. See more at the event’s Facebook!
For each Red Hook Crit race, there is a prize bike and each year, the prize bikes just keep getting better! For example, here’s a look at the 2013 Red Hook Crit Barcelona Cinelli 824 track bike, which is arguably the best prize bike yet. Assembled by Barceloneta Bikes.
Some race (and lucky) racer is going to bring this one home with them this weekend!
Check out more below!
There are just three short days until the Red Hook Crit Barcelona goes down. Personally, I’m very pumped on this race and I wish I could be there to see it in person. To commemorate the event, Rockstar Games designed a poster for Red Hook Crit and it looks so good!
Thanks for sending this over, Dave!
Track bike crits have become all the rage at local city events. These high-speed, high-tension races are enjoyed by all and offer up a taste of what it’s like to not only race in a road criterium, but also track racing. For the 2013 All City Championship, Jeff put on a track crit, to replace his normal match sprints. 50 or so racers entered, over a hundred were there to spectate and it was a great time. I haven’t had that much fun at a bike event in a while!

Here’s the production sample for the bike that the Mash team has been riding for the past year and a half. Dubbed the Parallax, here’s the scoop from Mash:
“We are happy to introduce our 2014 offering with Cinelli. The Parallax frame set was developed and field-tested over the past 18 months, with Chas and Walton deciding and tuning the bike’s geos. Like with any MASH project, every detail is fleshed by our group of friends. Garrett designed the graphics and colors of the bike and matching skin-suit, drawing inspiration from charts used to check the sharpness of camera optics. Enclosed are some details from this collaboration. Look for more updates as the racers prepare for the third installment of the Red Hook Crit series here, in Barcelona.”

Here’s a rad video from the Golden Saddle Cyclery Grand Prix that went down at Encino velodrome a few weeks back. Short, sweet and beautiful!

Leader has a new carbon fiber track frameset coming out, dubbed the EQNX and a new cycling kit, designed by Dustin Klein and made by ENDO dropping around the same time. Be on the look out for both this fall and check out the lookbook here.
