These two are one of the raddest couples I know. Stoked to see this video finally coming out. Thanks to Charge Bikes for sharing.

I’ve never ridden the Vancouver coast, but so far, what I’ve seen has me convinced it’s a pretty jammin’ landscape.

This weekend, we took a look at the Twin Six Standard 29r and already, people are talking about this frame: their Rando frameset.

Traditionally, randonneuring frames have rim brakes, 650b wheels and quill stems, yet Twin Six opts for disc, 700c x 43c (perfect for a tire like the Bruce Gordon RockNRoad) and other modern technologies like PF30BB. Personally, I’d just call this a light touring bike since stylistically, it’s pretty detached from a traditional randonneuring bike.

At any rate, Twin Six’s offerings thus far are affordable, stylish and best of all: METAL.

These will be available as frames only and will retail for around $600 for either black or $650 for green with matching fenders. Due out by the end of 2014…

Three things can make all the difference on your ride: tires, bar tape and your saddle. This bike in particular is about as dialed as they get, both in aesthetics and comfort. Out of all my bikes, I gotta say, the Woodville has the most character and I’ve been enjoying each of the three aforementioned choices so far.

Easton’s bar tape, Bruce Gordon Rock n Road tires and the Brooks Cambium C15.

As a side note, I’m not sure what spawned this, other than I’m trying out a makeshift studio in my office. If anyone has experiences mixing a B1 500 TTL strobe with speedlights, I’d love to hear from you! I’m using the Air remote.

Sam and Kurt are two rock-climbing, wheelie poppin’ rad dudes who found themselves smack dab in the middle of the Great Divide route this summer, as part of the Blackburn Ranger Out There program. Here’s a quick video showcasing their personalities and inner expectations.

Wow. I’m speechless. I love how most of this video is filled with vignettes of the sites and sounds of Chile and very little actual cycling.

Few things come to my mind when I think ‘Chile’: beautiful landscapes, difficult past, very friendly and helpful people and unfortunately, a lot of hidden, mainly environmental problems (contamination from mines, HidroAysén project).

One of my favorite small online shop owners that I’ve never met is Rob from Ocean Air Cycles. Recently, they collaborated with Swift Industries on a demi-porteur bag called the Docena. What is a demi-porteur bag? Read all about it at Ocean Air’s blog.

This is the nineth layout of the Radavist 2014 Calendar, entitled “Ascension”. The camera and location are noted on the bottom left of the document.

The Pacific Coast is a cycling Utopia. Minus the RVs and tourists who are unable to operate their rental cars. Still, in one of the heaviest traveled scenic highways in the US, solitude can be found, even amongst looming giants like the Redwoods.

I forgot to point out in that last Poler entry the launch of their new Campvibes Communique and this rad painting from an artist whose name escapes me. The quarterly document is 10″ x 12.5″ and is filled with stories, recipes and maybe even some cycling content in the future.

Now, back to this knolling illustration, who’s got a link to the artist’s site?

From here on out, any bike that goes off-road and could potentially find itself in the wilderness for an extended period of time with have a third bottle cage. They’re life savers.
