We’ve heard John sing the praises of his Starling Murmur over the past three years, and with good reason! Starling really has pushed the zeitgeist of carbon full suspension mountain bikes with their steel bikes, and to commemorate the launch of Starling Murmur Stainless pre-orders, the brand teamed up with Hope and Bristol Bicycle Restorations to cook up something special. Let’s check the press release from Starling out below!

UK-based component and frame manufacturer Hope Tech released its HB.T Olympic track bike last year. The HB.T was developed alongside Lotus Engineering and was put to the test at this summer’s Olympic Games in Tokyo. To up the ante, Hope reached out to David from Death Spray Custom to develop a paint scheme for the HB.T which David has dubbed “the Alternative GB Flag.” That’s all we can say about this project now, so enjoy some more photos by Hope’s Robin Godden below!
British manufacturer Hope announced that it was throwing its helmet into the clipless pedal market with three new pedal models, ranging from the big platform gravity, GC, the trail pedal, TC, and race pedal, RC. All three pedal designs will come in six colors, feature titanium axles, offer a dual entry mechanism designed for easy pedal entry, secure cleat holding, and positive, consistent release. The Union Clip Pedals line run on three cartridge bearings and a maintenance-free IGUS bush for smooth long-term durability and the best part is, they’re full rebuildable.
These are coming down the line soon but you can check out all the details at Hope.
Hope is great at many things, the first being their ability to machine some of the nicest parts right in the UK and the second being nailing all the anodizing colors you could want. Their new colored center-lock lockrings offer a splash of color to your disc brake bike. They’re compatible with 15mm thru-axles, weigh 9.5g and are in stock now. Head to Hope to see more.
Over the past few years, I’ve found myself only riding 150mm travel hardtails and full suspensions with slackened front ends and steep seat tubes. In my mind, why would you want anything else? Then I moved to Santa Fe, where we have even bigger backcountry loops, steep climbs, and long, rocky descents. Yet, we also have sweeping, undulating XC trails. Suddenly, all those 150mm bikes are a little too much for a lot of the trails here, most of which are in my neighborhood. Then Chumba came to the rescue, sending along their Sendero 130mm 29er hardtail for me to review and I fell in love with XC bikes once again.
Read on for how this beauty of a bike handles our chunder and Chamisa-lined trails here in Santa Fe…

We feature a lot of balleur builds here on the Radavist and to be honest, I’m often very conflicted about that! Cycling is about seeing new places, meeting people that can change your life, and getting hooked on endorphins, not $8,000 gravel bikes. Yet, I just tell myself that we try to mix it up as much as possible and it’s great to give framebuilders a showcase so that their work gets out there on the internet for public consumption. Plus, a lot of people use those builds to inspire their own bikes. Then something like the Hope HB.T comes out and suddenly I don’t feel so bad about posting $5,000 road bikes! Check out those prices! Now… who’s gonna put risers and toe clips on it?
