This is so good! When John Maniquis from Rapha SF posted this on his Instagram last week, I kindly asked for a scan of it. User-submitted / created Merckx Monday content is always welcomed!

Merckx Mondays
Molteni sausages were onto something when they sponsored a young bicycle racer by the name of Eddy Merckx in 1971. Not only were they to see a huge jump in sales from his many victories (someone give me a source!), but little did they know, their brand was to be embodied in one of the most iconic colors in cycling history.
While this frame in particular is not an original Molteni, it still looks mighty nice sitting atop this Kubota.
I have been dangerously low on Merckx Mondays content, so when I was over at Maison de Blanc over the weekend, I asked FYXO to shoot one of his many Merckx frames. “Which one?” he asked, to which I replied, the one that’ll look the best on your dad’s mower.
Granted, this is by no means the “nicest” Merckx frame in Andy’s man cave, it just looked so quant… See for yourself in the Gallery!
This, like everything in the world of FYXO, is for sale. Interested? Shoot him an email.

Ben Foster as Lance Armstrong
I’d say this is pretty uncanny, down the bike. Ben Foster is playing Lance Armstrong in the new biopic feature-length film. Personally, I’m pretty into what I’ve seen so far! See more info here.

Eddy Merckx, 525 victories and style icon. Seriously, that man had such rad sideburns. Classic cycling photography was so good!
*these two photos are from the Merckx 525 book.

Fyxomatosis: Eddy Merckx Weight Loss Programs
If anyone knows weight loss, it’s me. I went from flubby to fit (sorta), all from riding more. Andy from Fyxomatosis has a lot to do with my fitness and so I feel like I owe him the plug on this one. Scoop up an Eddy Merckx Weight Loss Programs shirt yourself!

Merckx Mondays
Let me first say that I have no idea where I found this image but I can’t let Merckx Mondays just fizzle out. Tracko‘s actually doing a pretty great job with it and once Andy gets his act together and starts posting again, I’m sure the three of us will be able to nail down Merckx content. For now, I just wanted to share this incredible Campagnolo ad…

Merckx Mondays
As you can imagine, it’s tough to find somewhat original Merckx Mondays content. Not saying this is by no means original, but these excerpts from a photo album haven’t been posted all over the internet… yet.
Roleur posted an extract from L’Album d’Eddy (issue 8) on their blog and I highly suggest you check it out.

It’s Not Monday: Cycling Inquisition Visits Eddy Merckx
Klaus from Cycling Inquisition supplied a few photos for a Merckx Mondays from his trip to the Eddy Merckx factory a while back. Well, his full story is now live on his site and it’s filled with great photos and a perfect early afternoon read. Check it out at Cycling Inquisition.
… and yes, this is 24 hours too late for a Merckx Mondays but I had to post it!

Happy Merckx Mondays! This Recent Roll post is brought to you by David Flores and Division 1, a new shop on the east side of Austin, Texas. The guys at D1 flew Mr. Flores out to paint this massive Eddy Merckx mural on the eastern façade of their new building. It’s impressive!

I receive what I would consider “gems” in the form of emails from time to time. This one in particular came from Michael in Sacramento. A lifelong Merckx fan, Michael actually got to visit the factory back in 1985, where, as he described, he was too much in awe to focus. Literally.
Amazing… Hopefully, there will be more on the site from Michael in the future. Even if I have to travel to Sacramento to document it myself.

Merckx Mondays
Well, my Memorial Day has wound down and as I get back to the swing of the work week, I thought I’d kick it off with a nice Merckx Mondays from Fyxomatosis. Well, technically, this one’s from Patebury, an Aussie leather shop. Rather than track down another NOS Sella Italia RS saddle for an Eddy Merckx Professional that Andy’s building, he contacted Patebury to see how close they could come to making one… it looks damn nice!
See more photos at FYXO.

Merckx Mondays
I’ve seen a lot of Merckx photos, but this one is still one of my favorites. The photographer (whoever they are) really captured that Merckx moment. Happy Monday.
I have no idea who the photographer is, if you do, please share.

Merckx Mondays
Everyone knows that the brand Eddy Merckx isn’t what it used to be. After Eddy sold the company, it kind of went in a different direction. Ok, it totally went in a different direction. Not that the classic Merckx frames suffer from this modern association but there’s something to be said about pedigree and integrity.
One thing’s for sure, Eddy has pedigree and in his old age, he’s maintaining his integrity. Now the brand? That’s up to you to discuss. Take these three photos for instance, sent in by Klaus from Cycling Inquisition. He was in Belgium recently and met Eddy while at the factory.
I love the shot of “Eddy’s Bike”. Too good Klaus!
Oh and I’d still rather see him on a Molteni…

Sun Graphics does a hell of a lot of resprays, oops, pardon me, I meant “restorations”… Shit. Let me start over. In Australia, if you need a place to get a classic Eddy Merckx restored to (or above and beyond) its original condition, the place to go is Sun Graphics.
Andy at FYXO works exclusively with Sun and Shifter to deliver pristine complete future Eddy Merckx classics. Above is one of my favorite Merckx liveries, team Stuttgart. This one’s heading off to Sun for a little TLC and below is a classic Eddy Merckx famed for polished Campagnolo.
I can’t wait to see how both of these turn out. Maybe they’ll be a future Merckx Mondays?

Paul’s MX-Leader Eddy Merckx Road
When I posted a few photos of this bike, a bunch of people emailed me, asking about its history. To be honest, I’m not 100% sure what the history is, other than it’s a Sun Graphics respray in the less common Telekom livery. That and it’s got a great built kit. See that stem? Instant classic. I’ve seen a lot of Merckx bikes in Melbourne, but Paul’s is one of my favorites.
