To coincide with the events surrounding the Chris King Open House in Portland, Chrome’s head office in Portland pulled together four custom bags that were on display in their Portland Hub. Each bag was made in one of the Chrome Hubs. The stores are located in Brooklyn, Chicago, Seattle and SF. Each store has a bag repair department and the sewer there made the custom bag from recycled materials.

When Chrome began in Boulder, Colorado in 1995, they only had a few employees who did everything from answering the phones to salvaging parts in junkyards. Now Chrome is located in Chico and for their Heritage Collection, it’s very much still hands-on.
Chrome and REI came together with a selection of contemporary artists and matching them with charities for a custom frame auction. It’s called Frames for Good. The proceeds of each frame will be donated to a charity of each artists’ choosing. The auction begins April 27th at 6:00pm EST to May 7th at 6:00pm EST, so head to Frames for Good to see more.
