The #HideYourBikeInPlainSight Winner!

Kyle Abernathy and Team Dream Team

Man, talk about a tough contest to judge. There were over three hundred photos tagged with #HideYourBikeinPlainSight and while most of them were pretty straight forward, these two struck me as the most successful.

Kyle Abernathy’s photo was one of the only ones that took me a minute to process what was going on. Usually, I could see what people were doing in the thumbnails. They either completely covered their whole bike in foliage, or shot so wide that the bike kinda disappeared. While there were no rules, I felt that approach was too easy. This however was so simple that it worked and the whole bike frame was obscured. Natural camouflage.

Team Dream Team’s photo took an approach that a lot of people attempted: find a wall that’s the same color as your frame but adding the banana to the shot gave it depth, scale and a clever twist. Honestly, I like Team Dream Team’s photo the best out of the bunch (heh) but I really want to give the bar tape to a random person instead. Sorry Sean! Don’t worry, Sean will get something extra special in the mail…

Kyle, shoot me your address and thanks for playing everyone!

Easton Cycling and PiNP #HideYourBikeInPlainSight Instagram Contest

Look, camouflage is very “in” at the moment, so it shouldn’t surprise anyone that Easton would make a few rolls of this bar tape for promo purposes. I keep telling them to put the pattern into production but for some reason, they’re hesitant. Regardless, I managed to get my hands on a few boxes of the stuff and I want to give them away.

Want to win a free roll of this special edition Easton Cycling camo bar tape? The rules are simple. Go for a ride (in the city, the woods, gravel, dirt, mud, wherever), hide your bike in a creative way, take a photo on Instagram, tag #HideYourBikeInPlainSight (I know it’s a long one), then @ reply / follow both @Easton_Cycling and @JohnProlly.

You can add as many photos as you want…

Come Monday, I’ll pick the winner and ship you a roll!

Ready… GO!

Resist: Bald and Out Contest

Resist just posted up this contest to win a free set of Nomad tires:

“For all you guys that have completely bald, ripped or shredded tires, we have the contest for you.  Send us a picture via our Facebook wall of your worn out tire and we’ll see if you deserve a free replacement of new Resist Nomad tires.  Is it that simple? YES!  Read more for the rules.

Date of Contest Ending: July 2012

Contest:
Send us a picture of your worn out tire and we’ll see if you deserve a free replacement set of new Resist Nomad tires.  It would help if you also sent us a picture of your complete bike also.  We obviously can’t give free tires out to everyone out there and we’ll be judging on who best deserves the tires.  We’ll only consider worn out tires that have been ridden and won’t accept a new looking tire with slashes or rips that looks like it could have been deliberately done.

How to submit your worn out tire.
All submissions have to be submitted to our Facebook Wall.  Also helps if you LIKE our page too.

Wins:
A free set of Nomad tires (sidewall colors and sizes may vary due to current inventory).

Rules:
1. Contests are only for Continental US residents (unless winner wants to pay for the overseas shipping)
2. We’ll only accept 1 entry per person.”

This one’s easy!
