48×15 Volume 002

The second issue of 48×15 is out and inside its pages is a contest to win a pair of H+Son TB14s. Here’s how to enter:

“We spent the last month trying to find the best way to tell you guys that we think you’re really great for reading our magazine. We didn’t want to come on too strong with ‘we love you’, and we didn’t want it to get weird by suggesting that you meet our parents. I think we settles at a happy place in the middle – giving away super awesome H+SON rims! There are only a few quick steps to get yourself entered to win:

1. Read Volume 002 of 48×15 Magazine (look at that, you’re already done step 1!)

2. Take a picture of yourself while you’re getting your read on. It can be the physical magazine, on our website, at issuu.com/48×15, on your computer, on your phone, your grandma reading it to you while you fall asleep . . doesn’t matter!

3. Post your photo on our Facebook page at facebook.com/48×15

4. The photo with the most likes gets the rims!

We’ll ship these anywhere in the world, it doesn’t matter if you’re in Tahiti or Timbuktu. See you on Facebook!”

Sweet. I love mine! Best of luck to the entrants.

I don’t know what you’re up to this weekend but I just joined this challenge from Rapha on Strava.

Riders who complete the challenge will receive a Rapha Turkey Takeoff badge.

It’s time for the Turkey Takeoff.

Mission Workshop: Win a Gobi Merino Wool Beanie

Mission Workshop just launched a killer contest to promote their Gobi beanies. Here are the details:

“The Gobi is made from 360g New Zealand Merino Wool with added stretch making it the perfect piece for colder winter rides. Retails for $40. View on MissionWorkshop.com
To win one, post your best over-stuffed Vandal or Rambler backpack pic on the Mission Workshop Facebook Wall and the top five posts with the most “Likes” will win a beanie. We’ll pick the winners on Monday Nov. 14.

If you don’t have a Mission Workshop bag, you can still pick up a Gobi. Enter the promo code UNICORN at checkout and get one FREE when you order any bag. We only set aside 25 for this promo so don’t miss out.”

Rapha Jersey Pocket Stuff Competition on Facebook

Jeremy from Rapha emailed me this new contest they’re running over on their Facebook:

“35 Entries and we are gearing up for more in the coming weeks. From a look at the Facebook Page you will see that no only do people like to get excited about what is in their fellow cyclists pockets, but also what goes on their heads and in their ears. People can be so opinionated on Facebook. But, it just goes to show that people are passionate about riding their bicycles. We have also had some “celebrity” bloggers and cycling personalities chime in with what they carry when they ride. The first installment of this is now live on the Rapha Blog from Bicycling Magazine’s Bill Strickland. See what he carries with him and why.”

Check out more here and post up your entries here on the Rapha Facebook. I’m still kind of dumb-founded how people get all worked up around riding with headphone(s). I do it but with only one ear bud in, on the opposite side of traffic. It’s just a supplement to the experience, not an attempt to drown it out. Sheesh.

Giant: Real Riders Sponsorships

Giant: Real Riders Sponsorships

I can totally get down with this. Giant is working on a new ad campaign to sponsor “real” riders; i.e. the everyday “Freds” with a contract and a new bike. Check out more here. Sucks it’s not available to the US: AU only!

Ideum Apparel: The Others Experiment

The folks at Ideum Apparel gave me the heads up on this news:

“The Others Experiment was created to bring new artists and designers to light that would not normally have the capability to print their own t-shirts. We don’t want to put any restrictions on the design other then what we give ourselves, size & color. Basically with this competition we just want the best that others can do. Even beyond size & color requirements don’t plagiarize, don’t take someone else ideas or designs.”
